Outdoor program?

I have a question for people living on the reservation, Hopi in particular. Would you take advantage of an outdoors program if it were offered on the reservation? The most basic form would be day trip hiking to locations on or off the reservation. The trips would be to historical sites or even just your backyard. The hikes would most likely include educational components such as the cultural and geologic history of the area.

An attainable goal is to have the program encompass most forms of outdoor sports. One of which would be over night or even weeklong backpacking trips to locations like the Grand Canyon. Another goal is to host rafting trips on rivers such as the San Juan. Another useful sport for the Hopi people would be learning how to climb and use climbing gear (rappelling, ascending, etc). This would also include canyoneering or trips to climbing walls on or off reservation.

Please offer any feedback that you can. Also take into consideration your position (work, travel, family, vehicle etc.) and if you would be able to participate in the program. The only downside I can foresee is that a small portion of the trips finances would have to come from the participant. I believe that creating an outdoor program would be an exciting opportunity for the community.
